Some Human Beings Are More Inhuman Than Lucifer

BY: Dan Phale*

Miracle, extremely hopeless and in huge emotional and psychological pain, cried out loudly, “Where shall I go to? Who shall I approach to help me? Where shall I begin from, and how shall I begin it? My heavenly Father, why have you forsaken me…?” She sobbed, lamenting as she didn’t have any idea what to do in order to get herself out of an abyss of intricate problems.

The old wise folks have a proverb which says life is a teacher. However, at times its lessons are so excruciatingly painful. Miracle was born from a very poor lady whose husband passed away soon after her conception about seventeen years ago. As she grew up, Miracle’s mother found herself between a rock and a hard place as she struggled singlehandedly to raise financial resources. The money was not only to be used for the general well-being of the household but also for her daughter’s education. But her efforts proved futile. And this situation made life profusely unbearable for both Miracle and her single mother.

Now it happened that Miracle had just made it into the secondary school. Her caring mother continued striving in all possible ways to make ends meet so as to pay her school fees. But later on the heavens were not on her side as her mother fell critically ill… and due to the ever pressing poverty she had nothing to do in order to help her terminally sick mother. So she thought of moving up and down in the quest for money… Whether through working, or begging, but she vowed to find money so that she would take her dear mother to the hospital. At some point she met a certain rich man who, upon hearing her situation, took her to his house so as to give her a financial hand. But when they got there she was told that he would not give money to her unless on condition that she had sexual intercouse with him. Forced sexual intercouse. As if this was not enough, she was barred from leaving back until five days elapsed. What a great challenge…

The ruthless rich man took advantage of her predicament to enslave and torture her… Suffice to say that five days later Miracle was given some money and was released from the bondage and allowed to go home. However, upon getting there she found her mother dead. Too sad.

Well, three months after burial of her mother, she made a bold decision to go ahead with secondary education. In this regard she sold some of the household properties in order to realise money which she would use to pay for tuition fees and the like. But she didn’t know what lied ahead of her life. She was not feeling okay; and when she visited the clinic, she was told she was pregnant. And, according to education rules, this led to her dismissal from school. Again, with very tough moral bye laws, she was banished from the community. There and then she became a hopeless vagabond. As a matter of fact, the cross was, day by day, becoming too heavy for her to carry. She, thus became so much disturbed that she nearly committed suicide.

One day she caught sight of a signpost which said “The home of orphans” and she felt an assurance that she would find solace. Hence she walked into the compound. But in a twist of events, what she was about to face there was quite contrary. The owner and in charge, by the name of Bertha, was the human and/or child trafficker. She harboured quite a number of orphaned girls who were forced to have sexual intercouse such that they could conceive and give birth to babies that should then be sold away to childless couples. If any girl was caught attempting to escape, she was subjected to severe torture and/or death.

Miracle’s heart felt like bulging out of the chest cavity as she got these horrific instructions. It also came to her notice that the rich man who impregnated her was the one who slept with the girls in this compound. However, as the wise words tell us that even the darkest night cannot prevent the light of the morning, at the far end of the dark tunnel of her anxiety, despair and misery, there came light of miracle in Miracle’s life.

The law enforcers were tipped about slavery and trauma the orphaned girls were going through. And before Miracle gave birth to her baby, the heavily armed law enforcers raided the place and apprehended Bertha and her accomplice. Meanwhile the heartless Bertha and her accomplice are serving a life prison term with hard labour.

From Rags To Riches

BY: Dan Phale*

This is a story which is aimed at imparting a strong sense of hope to all and sundry who are going through hardships… Let it be understood that if there is any similarity in terms of the issues, circumstances, or names of characters herein with those of the readers of this article then it is just a matter of coincidence; otherwise this is a mere fictition.

My almighty God, I understand that you are the only one who can help me all the timesI therefore plead with you to incline your ears to me... I beg you, Lord, not to count on my moral and spiritual weaknesses and/or failures… I am living in the environment where life is very unbelievable… I dont expect you to give me wealth nor poverty, because either way I may feel the temptation to forget and/or dishonour you… However I humbly pray that you should at least give me such prudence and wisdom that I be able to find my life needs, and sustainably use them…”

Such was John’s regular prayer. John became an orphan at a tender age following a road accident which claimed lives of both of his biological parents. As such he was staying with his aunt, Noriah. In fact Noriah is the one who inherited the deceased property left by John’s biological parents because there was no other relative alive on earth. Along this line Noriah was the only one who was expected to take good care of him.

Contrary to the John’s expectations, his aunt cruelly treated him. He was dressed in rags all the times while his cousins were dressed in very descent clothes… While his cousins slept in beds, John was forced to sleep on the floor… Noriah sent her biological children to the best schools while John was sent to a school which was not known with the best education record. In spite of the predicament John was such an ambitious young person that he worked very hard in class. God blessed him abundantly such that he shone more radiantly than his aunt’s biological children. He grew up a very wise man.

At the moment, on the one hand, John is the Chief Executive Officer steering one of the biggest companies in our country. As a matter of fact he is one of the richest people. Interestingly, John is a very generous man… And on the other hand the irony is that all the deceased wealth which was inherited by his aunt did not last long; as such her family cannot afford to acquire the necessities to satisfy their life. In addition his aunt’s biological children did not excel in education, and they are, up to now, unable to grab an employment opportunity.

Coincidence Of Poverty And Agony

By: Dan Phale*

The majority of us do have the idea that to be a poor person is like to be nonexistent in this world. And this is really why poverty is the most dreaded enemy of our life merely because it brings about numerous indescribable challenges in our midst.

But, on the other hand this could be a misleading notion to some extent. With or without worldly riches, life goes on. In fact even the very rich elite of this world do perish on an account of lack of prudence in their ways of life as seen through their decisions and reckless or negligent actions and/or omissions. It is, therefore, a requisite that everybody should be sufficiently sagacious in order to avoid falling into an abssy of problems.

In this article we look at a pathetic story of Sarah, the first born in a family of three children whose father was once a multimillionaire called Kenneth. In their family they had everything at their disposal, ranging from food, clothing, and luxuries. In other simple terms their life was a paradise on earth. However, owing to gross financial and/or economic mismanagement, Kenneth lost most of what had for some years brought glory and smile to him and the entire family. Thus he became as average as all other people in a poverty stricken country.

A proverb says wealth is dew… And this means that all and sundry must exercise fiscal discipline.

Everything had to change drastically about five years ago when Kenneth died in a road accident, leaving all his dependants hopeless. Although the bereaved worked hard in their crop fields fortune could not smile on them any more. Therefore, they were forced by adverse circumstances to start living on one meal only every day, and this challenge culminated into a problem of malnutrition and the related problems… Whereas in terms of dressing they had to put on rags. Fancy that…!

Just a year on, their mother fell chronically sick. And no any single child had any viable idea what to do in order to make ends meet. At that time Sarah had just clocked about sixteen years of age. She suggested that she should go to the nearest city in quest of any kind of work in efforts to raise money which could be used to sustain their livelihood and also to allow their frail sick mother get a better medical attention in a private hospital.

But when Sarah went to the city her wishes and hope got so elusive that she was kidnapped and trafficked to a neighboring country. She was detained in a brothel where her life was exposed to very great risks, for she was forced into prostitution life. No wonder sooner than later she contracted HIV. In this regard life continued being all hell to her such that she couldn’t figure out any reason for her to continue living on earth. But long at last some international human rights activists rescued her from the ordeal and was brought back home, whereas the perpetrators were brought to book.

Upon getting home she narrated details of all the miserable events she had gone through. But this could not do any good to her mother and her young sisters at all. Her mother’s ailing health condition worsened to the extent that she died of heart attack. What a grief to a family which was already under a spell of abject poverty and the related agony.

Meanwhile the poor Sarah is appealing to all people of good will and/or organisations to give her and her two young sisters a charitable hand so that they can get out of the predicament they are in.
